Career

05/2007 – today

Managing Director and CFO of blackbeltmonkey GBR.

Responsible for finance, project management, account direction, business development, and strategy. The business realised an annual revenue of EUR 690,000. Blackbeltmonkey has three managing partners, three full-time employees and works is working together with a pool of 20+ freelance partners.

Blackbeltmonkey’s clients are:  Adidas, the Page Magazine, Peek und Cloppenburg, Haspa, HDI, Sinner Schrader, Arthur Schlovsky, Frauennotruf, stern.de. Successfully delivered projects with very high international involvement, e.g. the Adidas Sign for Your Club campaign roll out in 30 countries worldwide.

11/2005 – 08/2007

Project Lead and Business Development at Stern.de.

Team lead of four project staff and several freelancers. My area of responsibility comprised project management, business development, content and concept development, feasibility analyses and the development of commercial models. In Detail: Project lead in online community development, concept development for an e-commerce extension of the stern.de photography community, conceptual specification of the user generated content section.

During my time with stern.de I gained extensive experiences in leading and motivating interdisciplinary teams (project management, senior management, print marketer, online marketer, marketing management, creatives).

03/2003 - 11/2005

Project Lead for the Foundation of the Hamburg Media School (HMS).

The HMS is organised as a public private partnership for the professions journalist, producer, director and other media-related occupations. It is promoted by leading enterprises of the German media economy.

I took responsibility for the entire project management as well as the inception of the HMS’s Department of Information Technology and Media Technology. I was responsible for three staff. Taking a lead position in the creation of the HMS was one of the most exciting challenges in my career. In total, about one dozen stakeholder groups needed to be steered. The project plan included 800 tasks from the design of the academic curriculum up to the integration of a television broadcasting station.

04/2001 – 03/2003

Freelance Media Consultant.

My focus areas were project management, concept development and media consulting.

I managed online projects for the Hamburg Media School and BMW, developed strategic and creative concepts for Nokia, Mini and Mercedes Benz and conducted market analyses of Latin American markets for the publishing house Gruner+Jahr.

01/2000 - 03/2001

Strategic Concept Developer at Kabel New Media.

My clients were a BMW, MINI and Nokia. From 09/2000 on I had the team lead of four concept developers and was the lead concept developer of the Hamburg branch coordinating a team of 15 concept developers.

Marketing Coordinator at Info AG.

Info AG is a Hamburg-based enterprise for IT services and IT consulting. Initially a trainee I took over the coordination of marketing in a subsidiary company.
